 Biography

Dr.StephaneRenaud,Thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon, senior member of the French Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons, after having completed my medical studies at Dijon faculty of Medicine (France), I performed my surgical training in the thoracic surgery departments of Strasbourg and Marseille University Hospitals (France). I am currently Assistant Professor in the department of thoracic surgery of Nancy University Hospital (France). I am interested in all areas of thoracic surgery, more particularly in thoracic oncology, from the pulmonary primary tumours to the pulmonary metastasis, passing by the pathologies of the mediastinum. However, I do not neglect other fields of our speciality, including traumatology, chest wall deformations, lung transplantation or extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation. Otherwise, after having completed my Master’s degree on surgical sciences, I pursued a PhD on the molecular and cellular aspects of biology at Strasbourg University. I particularly developed an interest in the molecular alterations of cancers, and the interactions of the cancer cell with its microenvironment. I do not neglect the surgical aspect of research, with a major interest in minimally invasive surgery (thoracoscopic or robot-assisted), as well as for emerging techniques such as fluorescence.
