 Biography

Dr. Ioannis Papachristos graduated from the Medical School of University of Athens in 2004 and boarded his specialty training in Trauma and Orthopaedics which was completed in 2013 in Athens after rotating in various hospitals. He was also awarded a Master of Science degree in metabolic bone diseases from the University of Athens at grade "Excellent". European Foundation of Orthopedics and Trauma (EFORT) honoured him with a visiting fellowship sponsored by Medacta in Anterior Hip Arthroplasty/ Hip arthroscopy which was completed in South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre in Epsom,United Kingdom with Professor Richard Field. Following that he worked as Senior Clinical Fellow in Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and later on as Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellow in Royal Berkshire NHS Trust. Having served as Orthopedic Fellow in Royal Surrey county Hospital in Guildford he continued as Trauma Fellow in st. George's University Hospital in London. At the time being he is Senior Trauma Fellow in Leeds Teaching Hospitals working with Professor Peter Giannoudis,renowned expert in non-union,complex-trauma and pelvic treatment.

Dr. Ioannis Papachristos research interests are bone biology/metabolic bone diseases; nonunion/infection treatment; hip and knee joint reconstruction; hip arthroscopy, knee preservation surgery; patellofemoral diseases; foot and ankle surgery.
