 Biography

Dr. Neeraj Singh is a post-doctoral researcher in the Dept. of Biomedical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, at Iowa State University. He received Bachelor of Veterinary sciences and Animal husbandry (BVSc&AH) and Master’s degree in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (MVSc) from College of Veterinary Sciences, G.B.P.U.A&T, India. He received doctorate in Biomedical and Veterinary Science, with specialization in immunology, from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, USA in 2010 under the supervision of Professor Dr. Liwu Li. His 5 years of post-doctoral research experience includes understanding the molecular mechanism regulating innate immune cells, in particular macrophages and neuronal glial cells, induced-free radicals/oxidative stress and neuro-inflammation. He have extensive experience in working with invivo mice model mimicking sepsis, Parkinson’s (MPTP) model, EAE (multiple sclerosis) and multiple myeloma (cancerous) mice model. Other research interest includes examining the therapeutic efficacy of nanoparticles in ameliorating neurodegenerative disorders, molecular mechanism regulating pesticides induced neurotoxicity, heavy metal toxicity in poultry birds and ethnopharmacology.
