Dr. Anand Kar is M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Zoology from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), a prestigious central University of India. He is currently serving as Professor in School of Life Sciences, D. A. University, Indore, India with more than 27 and half years of PG teaching and 33 yrs of research experience and has been awarded with prestigious Common Wealth Academic Fellowship, UK; U.G.C. Career Res. Award, India; Young Scientist awardfrom ISCA, India, State in service Young Scientist Fellow (FTIYS) MPCST, Bhopal and best Science Teacher-Researcher award of the University (2009-2010). He has published more than 140 full length research papers (Includes 109 in International jnls , 22 in reputed Indian Jnls; 02 chapters in book(CRC & Stadium, USA and 2 review papers).These are apart from 2 UGC countrywide class room programmes. He has handled 06 research projects and has supervised 13 Ph.D.candidates (most are NET/GATE qualified, now well settled). He is also a reviewer of some national and international journals.
His primary focus of research is on Endocrinology (preclinical studies) with special reference to the regulation of Thyroid dysfunctions, Diabetes mellitus, Breast cancer & cardiovascular problems by herbal products / active compounds. In addition, he is also looking into drug induced toxicity.
