 Biography

Dr Silvio Tartaglia, MD, was born in Battipaglia, South Italy, on 29.07.1988. He attended the National Experimental Program of Physics course at Scientific High School “E. Medi” in Battipaglia. He completed his Medical school at University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, receiving his degree with full votes (110/110) in the 2014, with a thesis entitled: "Bio-electrical impedance analysis of the body composition’s modifications in early pregnancy induced by diet and hydric restriction: an experimental study” following Prof. H. Valensise in his studies on obstetric pathology. Since November 2015, he's on his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. He operates as a Trainee in Ob/Gyn in the Hospital “Santo Spirito in Saxia”, Rome, even participating like speaker to the course “Emergency in delivery room” with Prof. V. Scotto di Palumbo.


He attends the theoretical-practical course of the Hospital Medical School (Region Lazio): "Obstetrics in delivery room and practical gynaecology" at Maternal-Fetal Department in Fatebenefratelli "San Giovanni Calibita" Hospital, fellow and coworker of Dr. Giovanni Larciprete, PhD, for scientific research, publications and manuscript review activity. He is member of ISUOG and he received the certificate of “Basic Training Simulation Workshop” of Ultrasound, during the ISUOG 26th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Rome (2016). He works like a Medical Consultant for ASM (Italian Association for the Study of Fetal Malformations), in a hotline service for the risk of fetal malformation due to the assumption of OTC, drugs and substances during pregnancy and lactation.

 Research Interest

His research interest includes obstetric pathology, including pre-eclampsia, multiple pregnancy, IUGR, ectopic pregnancy; maternal-fetal medicine; obstetric ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis of fetal malformations; emergencies simulation and CRM; laparoscopy.
