Tarun Bhalla graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2000 with honors in Chemistry (Cleveland, Ohio). He proceeded to medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and graduated in 2005 (Columbus, Ohio). He was accepted to Anesthesiology residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital from 2006-2009, where he served as Chief Resident (Chicago, Illinois). After residency he continued at Northwestern Memorial Hospital / Lurie Children’s Hospital in a Pediatric Anesthesia fellowship, where he served as Chief Fellow in 2010 (Chicago, Illinois). After finishing training, Dr. Bhalla joined the largest and one of the busiest children’s hospitals in the country, Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus, Ohio). He has developed the pediatric pain services by serving as Director of Acute and Regional Pain, Director of the Pediatric Regional Anesthesia Fellowship, and most recently as Vice Chairman of the Comprehensive Pediatric Pain Services within the Department of Pediatric Anesthesia & Pain Medicine. Dr. Bhalla is also an avid scholar as an Associate Professor at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He continues to teach nationally and internationally as well as organize workshops and conferences in pediatric regional anesthesia and pain medicine. He has most recently completed his Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Dr. Bhalla is triple boarded in Anesthesiology, Pediatric Anesthesiology as well as in Pain Medicine.
