 Biography

Syafiqah Saidin holding a position of senior lecturer at Faculty of Biosciences & Medical Engineering (FBME), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Conducting her research under Frontier Materials research alliance, National Heart Institute-UTM (IJN-UTM) and Novel Material research group. Member of several professional bodies including Graduate Engineer in Board of Engineer, Malaysia (BEM), American Chemical Society Malaysia section (ACS), IEEE Malaysia section, IEEE-EMBS Medicine & Biology Society, Institute of Materials Malaysia (IMM). Has been appointed as a manager of Nobel Endeavor Program-FBME, deputy director of FBME Welfare Body, manager of chess FBME, Final Year Project and Inbound Industrial Training coordinator and assistant manager of School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPACE) FBME. Actively participated in the publication of journal, book and conference proceeding. Has experiences in conducting several high-cost machines/equipments such as X-ray electron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Become the editorial member of Journal of Advanced Research in Materials Science and the reviewers for several international journals such as Jurnal Teknologi, Journal of Healthcare Engineering and Malaysian Journal & Fundamental of Applied Sciences. Successfully completed her doctorate degree at UTM Johor Bahru, Malaysia (2014) with one-year attachment at Laboratoire de Biomatériaux et de Bioingénierie (LBB), Université Laval, Canada. Funded by National Science Fellowship (NSF) and Canadian Government scholarships during her doctorate study. Obtained her bachelor degree at UTM Johor Bahru, Malaysia (2009). Able to speak in three languages, Malay, English and French (basic). Actively join chess tournament/game at faculty and university level with the achievement of several medals.

Syafiqah Saidin Research interest includes X-ray electron spectroscopy (XPS; scanning electron microscopy (SEM); atomic force microscopy (AFM); and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).
