Elif F. Üçok has been a research and teaching assistant at Manisa Celal Bayar University since 2011. She has previously earned a B.S. in Food Engineering as well as a M.Sc. in Food Microbiology. Before starting her Ph.D. dissertation project, she won a competitive international scholarship from The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey and studied in the Dept. of Food Science at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Elif’s previous research experience has been focused mainly on foodborne pathogens and aflatoxins.
She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Food Science. Her research interest is focused on enhancing the survival of probiotics in food, probiotic foods, probiotic dairy products, and fermented food products. Outside of the sciences, she is a scuba diver who enjoys traveling.
