 Biography

Dr. Vincenzo D’Antò received his Degree in Dentistry, a Specialty in Orthodontics, a Master in Temporomandibular Disorders and a Master in Lingual Orthodontics from the University of Naples Federico II. He completed a PhD in “Materials and Structures Engineering” and a second PhD in “Oral Sciences”. In 2014, Dr. D’Antò received the Italian national scientific qualification as associate professor of Oral Sciences and he is currently working in the School of Orthodontics of University of Naples Federico II. Dr. D’Antò is a member of IADR, EOS, AAO, EAS, WFO and SIDO. He has been SIDO delegate (2010-12), president of EPSOS (European Postgraduate Student Orthodontic Society), treasurer (2013-2015) and secretary (2016-2018) of the Italian Society for Biomechanics (SIBOS). He has authored many papers and has given oral presentations at the international congresses of SIDO, EOS, AAO, IADR, SIAlign and DGAO. He has been awarded with research prizes, such as the Robert Frank Award (2004, 2005, 2009) and the Hatton Award (2006) of IADR, the SIDO award for the best research (2007 and 2010), the EOS Houston Award (2012) and the Tiziano Baccetti Award (2016).

 Research Interest

His basic research interests are mainly focused on the biocompatibility of dental materials and on scaffolds for tissue engineering. His clinical research interests are focused on orthodontics and orofacial pain.
