Biography
Dr. Harmanjot Kaur is MSc. Dietetics & Food Service Management, MSc. Human Biology, M.Phil Biotechnology and Ph.D in Human Biology. She is currently serving as Associate Professor in Faculty of Dental Sciences, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh. She has more than 11 years of experience in Teaching (in Dental, Paramedical, Physiotherapy & Hotel Management departments) and Research (in Hotel Management, Tourism and Zoology departments). She has obtained Gold Medal & Distinction prize for post graduation, graduation and honored with Award of Excellence by Desh Bhagat University. She has more than 30 publications comprised by 21 full length research papers including 14 in International journals among which 06 are UGC approved journals, 04 in National Journals, 03 in Conference Proceedings and 09 abstracts. She has handled 01 research project and supervised 02 MSc. Dissertations and 04 Ph.D Thesis. She has attended / participated in 13 International / National Conferences/ Seminar/ Workshops / Symposium. She is also offering professional service as Manuscript Reviewer / Editorial Board Member of 06 International Journals including 01 UGC approved Journal.
Research Interest
Her primary research focus is on metabolic disorders and associated risk factors with special reference to Diabetes Mellitus; Obesity; hypertension & cardiovascular disorders. In addition to this she is also looking into influence of various environmental factors on the dermatoglyphics of normal and diseased individuals.
